MITE Students Develop Hydraulic Car Parking Technology

The students of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) from Moodbidri have developed a new technology designed to tackle scarcity of space for car parking.
Hydraulic car parking is an ideal solution for congested parking spaces and MITE students have designed it keeping in mind the emerging parking problem in cities.
Developed under a project titled ‘Design and fabrication of parking enabled device for car’ MITE students Prathap P Shenoy, R P Satyajeeth, Sachin Shenoy and Santhosh Shetty from mechanical engineering have conducted the research under the guidance of associate professor N Venkatesh.

How it works

The hydraulic technology helps one to park a car between two cars using minimum space. With the help of small hydraulic tyres a car can be lifted and moved in and out of a designated spot, from outside the car. The vehicle can be moved vertically and horizontally to a vacant parking space.  It is said that with the use of this technology one can park 123 cars in a 100-car space.
